No matter who you are or where you’re from, chances are, ever so often you appreciate a really good burger over some laid back conversation with friends on a sunny yet breezy afternoon. I see you nodding your head in agreement. I see you and I feel you.
After a superb session at HintHunt, my friends and I weren’t feeling quite ready to call it a day so we decided to head over to Jerry’s for lunch. Well technically for drinks, but after that escape game, I was hungry and definitely wanted to chow down on something big and tasty. I’d never been to Jerry’s before but I was instantly taken by the decor and design elements right from the entrance. I know I say this in almost every post but I really do love a warm welcome, and Jerry’s didn’t disappoint. We were well received and sat outside because it was too much of a nice day to sit inside, despite the impressive decor. Something definitely noteworthy about the restaurant is the music they play, some old school cool jams but I liked it, I liked it a lot. They also have a big screen TV so the only time the music stopped was when they put the game on for the sports fans — if you and your buddies fancy a great meal over sport watching, you know were to go next.
Initially I was torn between ordering a cocktail or wine but eventually I kept it safe with a glass of Chardonnay. Not the best choice considering I ordered a burger for my mains, but it was late — I had not thought it through but nobody died. One of my friends ordered the Kiwi, Cucumber and Mint ice tea, and the other ordered a Dark and Stormy cocktail — that name alone is serving all the heat.
You know how sometimes you want a burger but you don’t really want cheese or mayo? I was having one of those days, I wanted the burger essentials without all the other fancy stuff. I ordered the Cheapskate hahaha the name low key made me feel a way but once I had the first bite, I didn’t care. It was simple, flavourful and filling to the right degree. I was perfectly satisfied. I had the burger with a side of sweet potato fries and I was impressed. I make sweet potato fries for myself at home sometimes and although I still enjoy my homemade version, I also feel like a restaurant is doing something right when their version is better than the homemade version — that’s the way it’s suppose to be otherwise we might as well just eat a home. This burger and fries combination definitely gave me my money’s worth — portion and taste wise. Kudos to you Jerry’s. Oh and did I neglect to mention that although both my friends had only planned to have drinks and nothing else, one of them ended up having the same burger as I after seeing mine? Jerry’s has just got it going on.
Writing this post has actually made me crave another burger. This is the only downside to reporting about really good food experiences, you always want more. Anyway, before you also start drooling all over your screens, check out Jerry’s website, like their Facebook page, follow them on Twitter and Instagram. As always, actually visit them ASAP! You wont regret it, tasty things await you.
